Coraline

How the title 'In-Mind Louis' came about?

With my title I took influence from the 2009 stop animation film 'Coraline' because its uses it's characters name as the title showing that the film's focus is on her and all about her and her mind. The first idea I came up with was 'Inside Louis' but i wnated to give is a more psychological and imaginative feel. Like the mind which is somewhat supernatural and can bend and twist reality. I wanted to twist my title so I came up with the improper 'InMind Louis'.

IN-MIND LOUIS story

About a young imaginative boy consumed and interested by mythical stories conatining strange places and people. He's asleep, one silent cold winter night. He lives in a large family house with his wealthy, straightforward parents. A strange ghost like dream is lurking in the houses unused cellar/basement. The dream travels slowly out of the basement and up the houses staircase and gets to Louis's room where it travels through his door with no disruption and then enters his imagination. The travelling dream sequence does not represent a ghost though, it simply just shows Louis descending into a deep sleep, fallen into a dream from a different point of view, differnt perspective, so the audience can see it in more of an abstract way than just a typical animation dreamlike style, that alot of other directors go for.
